Legislative Watch: Team to monitor and report on proposed laws and policies from the Georgia General Assembly. Based on their findings, the team will suggest actions.
GLAHR Support: Team supports immigrants and refugees through advocacy, direct action, and service.Informs the community for how they might be impacted by the actions of ICE and how to prepare and respond.
Municipal Watch: Attend meetings such as the School Board, County Commissioners, Elections Board, etc. Team to report findings and suggest actions
Voter Engagement: Team will mobilize voters through canvassing, phone and text banking and other grassroots activities to strengthen voter turnout
Community Events: Determine and organize events which will improve the community and help our neighbors. A Team Leader is also needed.
Walk and Talk: A weekly, casual gathering where we walk, chat, and share ideas. The goal is to find ways to collaborate and stay connected.
Protest Specific
Safety Marshals: Trained volunteers dedicated to maintaining peaceful, organized, and nonviolent events. They manage crowd flow, identify safety hazards, and use de-escalation techniques. Training sessions provided to ensure attendee security, particularly on action days like No Kings.
Medic Team: Volunteer street medics play a crucial role in ensuring protester safety by providing immediate, on-site first aid and medical care for emergencies. We need trained professionals, including EMTs and nurses to operate near, or within, crowds to offer quick, accessible care when an emergency arises. Limited training resources provided.
